In a world struggling for solutions to the food waste problem, a Canadian start-up is looking to make a difference through upcycling. Terra Bioindustries is adding value to agri-food waste by-products like spent brewers’ grains by turning them into sustainable ingredients for food and beverage manufacturers.
“There are a lot of agricultural wastes out there that aren’t being used to their full potential and we chose to start with spent grains due to its availability,” explains Terra founder and CEO Steve George.
